What were the tips?  Danielle suggested that couples planning a destination wedding should call the Social Security Office to verify that there marriage certificate will be accepted in the U.S..  If the answer is no, they  may need to have the certificate authenticated or they may need to do a Justice of the Peace wedding to makes things “legal” stateside.   Another good tip is to ask for 2-3 marriage certificates while your at your destination to avoid long distance calls and fees when you return home.
