As I founded MissNowMrs.com back in 2007, I read The Martha Rules. Her book on business taught me many things and helped frame how MissNowMrs was created. One of my personal goals from day 1 was to be published in Martha Stewart Weddings.
A company doesn’t just magically get mentioned by Martha, and that’s part of the charm and prestige. I wanted to build an online name change service that helped all newlyweds navigate the married name change process in each individual state. It needed to be fast, effective and beautiful. I would like to think Martha would call MissNowMrs a “good thing”.
Fast forward 8 years, endless press kits and editor pitches later. MissNowMrs is in the Spring issue of Martha Stewart Weddings! In a side column, I provide tips for brides considering changing their names after marriage. My married name change tips are online if you are a newlywed, and interested. It may have taken more time than I thought to achieve my “Martha goal”, but the entrepreneurial journey has been amazing.
Next goal: Chatting name change with Martha on Martha Stewart radio!!
