Jessica’s Experience Changing Her Name

One of our favorite parts of being a name change company is having the opportunity to share our client’s love and name change stories. Jessica’s real name change story absolutely not one to miss! Read on to learn how a destination elopement turned into a 120 person wedding. And, how it took Jessica over a year to even consider changing her name.

Jessica’s Love Story

My husband and I went to the same high school, but were one year apart. So, we did not know each other very well. We just knew each other by face. We went to college in different states and fate brought us together after graduation in our hometown. After a couple encounters with friends, he asked me out on a date. Our love developed slowly and purely. We got engaged after 4 years of dating and then married two years after our engagement.

Due to various family issues and illnesses, we had to reschedule and postpone our wedding a few times. At first, we wanted a small destination family elopement. But, ended up with a 120 person wedding with all our family and closest friends in our home town. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. We felt the love from everyone who was there. And, it was truly an unforgettable experience!

Home is where the heart is.

Jessica’s Name Change Narrative

To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to change my name. I have a lot of pride in my family and heritage. It took me almost a year to even consider it.

The best part of my new married name is feeling like we are officially one family. The hardest part of my name change decision was letting go of my last name as my identity. And, feeling like I am not longer attached to my cultural heritage. Initially, I was really daunted by the labor that it was going to take. I had no idea how to go about changing my name. Or what entities I needed to go through to do that. Therefore, the idea that I could have all of the paperwork sent to me from MissNowMrs with stamps and addresses was a huge lift for me.
