Create a FREE Wedding Photo Album!

Do you still need to make a wedding photo album? Digital cameras have revolutionized wedding photos and wedding photography as we know it. Instead of being presented with an album of 50 photos of your wedding (developed from film), today’s brides are typically given a CD with 1000+ images of their Big Day.  Seeing your wedding from every angle is awesome…but it can be hard to find the time to create an album with that many photos to choose from.

WedPics to the rescue!!  This month only, you can upload your photos into their free wedding photo app and create a FREE photo album (or if you used the WedPics app at your wedding you already have photos to choose from).   Select which photos you want placed where in a custom 8×8 inch album from Pictures.com.  Type in your address, pay a small shipping fee and you’ll have a gorgeous book commemorating your amazing love and wedding!

Hopefully this free album is the motivation you need to transfer your honeymoon photos from digital to quality print! An album will make a great new coffee table book or a gift for your parents!  Newlyweds…how long did it take you to create an album of your wedding?  Let us know in a comment!

How the Government Shut Down Affects Your Married Name Change

government shut down affects your married name change

Are you wondering how the government shut down affects your married name change? If you’ve turned on the news or radio, the media is awash with the negative impacts of the U.S. government shutdown. An angle they haven’t covered is how the shutdown affects married name change.

Heads up ladies! If you are in the midst of filing for your new Social Security Card with your new married name on it, the wait will be longer than normal. As this office is without funding, they cannot issue new documents until they re-open and handle the backlog of applications.

I called the Social Security Administration and they advised to wait to mail your SS-5 application for a new Social Security card until funding is re-instated. Until then, you’ll be using your maiden name.
The good news is that you can use MissNowMrs.com to auto-complete all of your name change forms so they’re ready to file as soon as this shutdown nonsense is behind us!

Now you have the scoop on how the government shut down affects your married name change. Are you going to wait to file, or risk it?

Married Name Game: A Fun Way To Find Your Ideal Name Change Option!

Whether you’re a bride or a newlywed, the decision about married name change faces us all.  Should we?  Shouldn’t we? What are the available options?  Where do you find reliable information on name change? That’s where the Married Name Game comes in!

Instead of trolling Google for boring articles about name change law and options in your state, play the Married Name Game! What newlywed doesn’t enjoy an entertaining online quiz?  This free quiz will help you figure out your ideal married name option. Be it taking your spouse’s name, taking your maiden name as a middle name. Taking two last names, hyphenating or not changing at all.  Using a patented algorithm and technology, data points about your career and preferences will be matched against your state’s name change laws to generate  the most compatible name change option available to you.

Knowing your options makes any decision making process so much easier. Personally, if I had known about the maiden to middle name option when I got married, I would have opted for it instead of taking my spouse’s last name.  I also would have changed my name sooner.  The Married Name Game makes name change research a lot more fun. So, give it a try and tell your friends!!

Once you know your perfect name, the MissNowMrs name change app or online service can help you save 13 hours of hassle. No need to waste newlywed time in endless government office lines.

DIY Wedding Shoe Inspiration

DIY Wedding Shoe

Holy cute DIY Wedding Shoe idea!  How fun would it be to show the entire church your new married name (if you’re kneeling during the service consider the orientation of the words) or add this shot to your wedding album?! I think the key to keeping this concept classy is the calligraphy. Just writing your name and wedding date in sharpie on a pair of designer heels is sort of  tacky…but if you (or your invitation calligrapher) have lovely script abilities this idea is a great way to celebrate becoming a Mrs.!

Your wedding day does establish you and your spouse as a family, and 88.6% of the time it leads to a new last name.  If you are considering changing your maiden name to your married name, check out the MissNowMrs.com easy online name change service!

Unconventional Flower Girls

Unconventional Flower Girls

Have you seen the trend in unconventional flower girls at weddings? I love an unconventional twist on an old wedding tradition! Whatever it may be, doing something that makes your wedding more about you or your family will result in guests talking about your event for years to come.

The tradition of flower girls dates back to the Roman Empire.  Flower girls of that time were virgins who carried a sheave of wheat that was supposed to bring prosperity to the bride and groom.  Flower girls of today are more likely to be small children tossing petals as they walk down the aisle, but what if neither side of the family has adorable little girls to be part of your big day?

Bring on the flower grandmas!! These ladies look like they are having a great time. And, I bet that every single person at that wedding smiled when they walked out.  I also appreciate the bride who thought to honor older women in the family.  We can all guess who’s being willed the family jewels!

What do you think of unconventional flower girls at weddings? Did you do something unconventional at your wedding?  Please share in a comment!
