Newlywed Anniversary Ideas

Newlywed Anniversary Ideas

Searching for newlywed anniversary ideas? Can you believe that you’ve been married for almost a year (or a few years)?  Time truly flies when you’re having fun and enjoying married life!  So what are you going to do for your up-coming anniversary?

Here are a few anniversary ideas sure to suit any couple celebrating any number of years of marriage:

Get Your Rings Engraved – If you didn’t have your rings engraved with a message before your wedding, an anniversary is the perfect time to add words of love or a special phrase to the inside of your bands.  Try to think of something that will make you smile when you read it on your Golden Anniversary.

Dine At Your Wedding Venue- If it’s possible, it can be very romantic to have dinner in the very place you had your wedding reception.  Find a little white dress and have your spouse spruce up for the evening too!

Renew Your Vows- If Heidi and Seal do it every year, why can’t you?  Whether you throw a party to celebrate or simply read your vows to each other to remember the words that bind you together, this is a great way to commemorate your wedding day.

Watch Your Wedding DVD – It’s super schmoopy, but watching yourselves walk down the aisle is so much fun!  Pour a glass of champagne and then settle in on the couch to watch two people on one of the best days of their lives.

Start A Tradition – Think of something you want to do to celebrate your anniversary each year.  Whether you want to have breakfast in bed, read your vows or stay in the same suite, traditions are a great thing to get started as newlyweds!

Whatever you choose to do to celebrate your anniversary, just remember to enjoy the moment and recognized how blessed you are to have the person you love in your life. We’d love to hear your newlywed anniversary ideas, so please leave a comment!

Looking for newlywed name change tips and trends? The founder of MissNowMrs.com and the MissNowMrs app, Danielle Tate, was on the WBKO’s Midday Live show morning on Thursday to talk about the latest tips and trends in newlywed name change.  We hope you enjoy her interview with Hayley Harmon.

What were the tips? Danielle suggested that brides planning to change their names post-wedding check into their state’s regulations and filing order before beginning the process. Another good tip is to order 2-3 marriage certificates so you can file multiple forms simultaneously…and become a Mrs. that much faster!

What were the trends? Overall, American women seem to by hyphenating less and using the maiden to middle name change option more than ever. Whatever version of name change is best for you, MissNowMrs.com is your source for a simple streamlined married name change experience!

DIY Wedding Makeup Made Easy!

DIY Wedding Makeup

Flowers, check. Dress, check. Photographer, check.  Now all you need is the perfect DIY wedding makeup for the Big Day. Always remember that when planning to apply your own bridal makeup, what you see in the mirror may not necessarily be what you get on film. But have no worries, here are a few tips that every bride should consider before the big day to achieve a flawless camera-ready look.

Practice Makes Perfect
Take the time to practice putting on your makeup prior to the big day and have a camera handy.  Snap away after doing your makeup and study the photo critically. Don’t put it to rest after one try— if you are not a professional makeup artist, experiment until you get it right!

Moisturize
The camera tends to capture oily skin. Be sure to moisturize with an oil-free moisturizer.  Let it sink in for a minute and then start applying makeup. Also, don’t experiment with a new moisturizer on your skin or you may end up with blotchy or breakout surprises!

Blend and Match
Wearing a beautiful strapless gown? Room lighting may be tricky. Look hard and close, and make sure your neck and chest match your face color. Pat some powder on your chest and neck to even out your skin tone. Before doing so, insert paper towels securely into your dress and let it cover your neckline to avoid a powdered messy dress! Be sure to blend the foundation around your neck and hairline to avoid apparent multi-colored skin in photos. Steer clear of shimmery bronzers and blush; they do not translate well on camera.

Paint Those Lips
Natural lip color or applying sheer gloss is a no-no for the big day. Color on your lips will bring life to your photos. Lip gloss should be applied on top of color, not substituted for lipstick.  To make your lip color last, prior to applying lipstick, line and fill in your lips with lip liner.

Touch-Up
Bridesmaids are girl’s best friends and “foundation”, in more ways than one. So pass along a wedding day touch-up kit to your maid of honor. Be sure to include the essentials—lipstick, eyeliner and powder/foundation. Have her keep it throughout the night and remind you to refresh your makeup so your photos look good— from your vows to your late now wows!
