Fresh Start To Spring Fitness

Stuck in a bit of  a winter exercise rut? We’ve got a great new product to give you a fun, fresh start to spring fitness: KlutchClub. It’s like Birchbox but filled with fitness and health goodies instead of beauty samples.

My KlutchClub box (which is the size of a shoebox) arrived jam packed with samples.  Earbuds shaped to fit women’s smaller ears, Omega 3 squeezes,  coupons for free fitness video downloads, dream water, a mud mask, superfood water mixes and several varieties of power bars. I was like a little kid at fitness Christmas! My favorite item was the good greens power bites.  These chocolate chunks contain 3 servings of fruits/veggies as well as 30 vitamins and minerals.  Best of all, they’re 50 calories and don’t taste like dog food!

At $10 a box plus shipping, KlutchClub boxes make great gifts. If you’re married to a fitness freak you could order a box (they have ones for women or men) and use it to create a healthy Easter basket for them!

p.s.  MissNowMrs readers get a discount on Best Of Boxes (containing the best goodies).   Use coupon code NOWMRS to save $5!

April Showers: Part II

April showers do bring May flowers, but rain isn’t the only kind of shower happening this time of year. As we continue into April, the number of bridal and baby showers on the calendar tends to rise. What’s a newlywed girl to shop for when she’s attending an absurd number of these events? We’ve compiled the best gifts for both types of showers to make this Spring a little simpler for you.

Baby Showers
If you don’t have a baby these parties can make you feel a little awkward. What ARE you supposed to buy an unborn child? Fortunately, you can usually look on Babies R Us or BuyBuyBaby for your friend’s registry. Still uninspired? Here are the Top 5 Baby Shower Gifts:

1. Little Lamb Swing – Chip in with a few friends for this amazing piece of baby technology. It rocks a cranky little one to sleep in 2 different directions, buying your friend some much needed down time as a new mommy. My son used it until he literally couldn’t fit into it anymore!

2. Video Monitor – Being able to flip a switch and make sure your bundle of joy is still breathing is priceless (especially since you won’t wake him/her up)!

3. Boppy Pillow – It may sound like a ridiculous item, but these pillows keep your friend’s arms from falling off. The Boppy allows the new parents to feed/hold/cuddle their child hands-free.

4. A Prenatal Massage – While it’s great to buy goodies for the newborn, your soon-to-be mommy friend could probably use a little something for her. Purchase a gift card at a local spa, but be sure that they offer pregnancy massages. You friend will never forget how thoughtful you were when she feels 40 pounds lighter and can actually sleep after her treatment!

5. Customized Anything – Seeing your little angel’s name printed on something is precious. Red Envelope has a ton of great personalized baby gifts to choose from…the baby keepsake kit is one of the the best.

Bridal Showers
You should be a pro at bridal showers since you just had one! However, if you’re attending several showers it’s nice to have a few extra gift ideas up your sleeve. Here are our Top 5 Picks:
1. Anything On Her Registry – Plates may seem boring to you, but your friend took the time to register for them and will probably end up buying the remaining ones for herself post-wedding if you don’t purchase them. Creativity usually gets kudos, but a completed registry is awesome for a bride!
2. Bridal Lingerie – When you’re paying for a wedding, little things like cute honeymoon undies can seem frivolous. Help a gal pal (and her soon-to-be-hubby) out with a gift from Victoria’s Secret. *Please note who will be in attendance at the shower before you present your gift. It might be wise to give it to the bride before or after the party.
3. Candle Poem Basket – If you’re looking for a very personal gift that scores high on thoughtfulness and low on price, this is the perfect idea for you.
4. A MissNowMrs.com Gift Card – Make the bride in your life’s name-change a snap. She’ll save 13 hours of hassle and research by using this amazing online service!
5. Cash – It might seem a little tacky to give a check as a shower gift, but you can be sure that it will get used! Consider writing a message on the memo line that says your gift is for something fun on the honeymoon or a pedicure before the Big Day.

What were your best bridal shower and baby shower gifts? Do you have a gift that you always give to a bride/mommy-to-be? We’d love to know!

Newlywed Rainy Day Fashion 411

rainy day fashion

How are you set for rainy day fashion? With March comes the promise of Spring and usually a great deal of rain.  Instead of letting the precipitation depress you, use the rain as an excuse to indulge in some cute accessories and outerwear! Here are a few of our rainy day favorites:

Cute boots- Every girl needs to keep her feet dry, so why settle for a boring pair of goulashes?  Try a super cute pair of brightly colored boots, or even up the ante for a designer pair.

Umbrellas – Rihanna sang an entire song about these marvelous inventions and now you can own an umbrella with her lyrics on it!  Not so into lyrical umbrellas?  Then show off your personality with a mod monogrammed version.

Raincoats – What better excuse to purchase a new coat than the rainy beginning of Spring?  Invest in a classic trench coat that will work over all of your business attire and still look fresh over an Easter dress.  You can also keep dry and cozy with a floral number that reminds everyone around you of the benefit of all the rain…flowers!

Rain bonnets – Okay, so maybe only your grandma owns a rain bonnet, but it’s not the worst idea to have an emergency one to pull out of your purse during a surprise storm (as long as you don’t know anybody around you).

Hats – Great for keeping your head dry and disguising all the frizz that comes with high humidity. Look for a fashionable, yet functional rain hat that won’t break the bank or get you laughed out of the office.  Feeling funky?  Try this a retro 20’s hat to add some color and fun to a gray day.

What are your favorite rainy day fashion accessories?  Do you have a great rain-related outfit to tell us about? Please leave a comment.

Spring Fever

Do you have spring fever? Today is the first day this year that we have seen 60 degree weather, so now I am super excited for spring! Seriously, I can’t wait until I can step outside and not have to look at or shovel anymore snow! Since we have been so infiltrated with bad snow storms this winter, who doesn’t have spring fever!?

My hubby and I have been stuck indoors due to the weather lately, and because of this we are beginning to push each others’ buttons! In positive strides to rush in the warmer weather and bring myself and my spouse out of this mental rut, I have made a list of to-do’s for myself this week! Here are a few things that I will be doing to ring in the spring:

-Spring Decorating! After this week we will be taking down the Valentine’s decorations to replace them with a few spring items! My hubby and I love spending time together at home and decorations are something that we can both enjoy (at least that’s my excuse when shopping)!  I have already checked out Michael’s craft store and found some great ideas!  Not so crafty, here’s a personal home décor favorite!

-Brighten things up! Dig out a few lighter sweaters and brighter colored tops, and rotate them to the front of your closet. Start incorporating your spring clothes into your outfits. Also, try picking up some new eye shadow, lipsticks, and nail polish in the new spring colors. I don’t know about you, but a fresh new look always helps naturally perk up my mood!

-Plan a Vacay! After dinner, grab a bottle of wine, your laptop/ipad, etc… and cuddle up on the couch while searching for your next vacation spot! Nothing makes me happier than thinking about the warm sun, my toes in the sand, relaxing by the water and having a fruity drink with my hubby!

-Get Motivated! Spring is not quite here but it is well on its way, so start getting your body ready for the warmer weather now! When short sleeve shirt and shorts weather is here you’re going to be happy you stuck with your New Years’ resolution to tighten and tone!

Are you also experiencing a bit of spring fever? Is there anything that you’re doing to help you and your spouse escape the winter weather rut? Tell us!
