How Does An Online Name Change Service Work?

Curious how does an online name change service work? Engaged or newlywed and considering changing your maiden name to your married name? If you’ve used your computer to do any research on the topic, you’ve seen the MissNowMrs online name change service.

Curious what an online name change service does? Much like TurboTax, our service asks you a series of questions (such as your maiden name and new married name) and uses your answers to auto-complete the necessary name change forms for Social Security, the IRS, the United States Postal Service, your state driver’s license and voter registration. The service will also generate letters to notify over 15 million different companies/creditors of your new name.

The streamlining of the form completion coupled with detailed instructions that give you the file by mail option or the best times of day and days of the week to file in office save approximately 13 hours. You also get the peace of mind that ALL of the forms you need to file are completed. That’s 13 hours you can spend basking in newlywed bliss instead of standing in long government office lines!

Now that you know what the service does, you may be wondering “how does it work”. Instead of a lengthy explanation, you can now try the MissNowMrs online name change service before you buy it! Simply click the ‘Try It Before You Buy It’ button on our website to set up a free account that will walk you through the completion and printing of your IRS 8822 form. You can then opt to convert your account to a complete account that will help you complete the rest of your name change forms for $29.95!

Hopefully we’ve answered the question of ”how does an online name change service work?” If you’re ready to change your name, we’d love to help save you time and stress!

What #LoveWins Means for Married Name Change

Curious what #LoveWins means for married name change? The Supreme Court recently ruled to legalize same sex marriage in all 50 states.  The #LoveWins ruling was met with much celebration and will result in a multitude of same sex weddings this summer and fall.   First comes love, then comes marriage….followed by name change!

Instead of needing to petition the court system for a legal name change order; newlyweds, regardless of their sexual orientation, can now use the married name change process to change their name(s) after marriage.  They can use their county issued certified marriage certificate to begin filing for their new name on their social security cards, U.S. passports, IRS 8822, state driver’s license, voter registration and across all of their personal and professional accounts.

To streamline the 13 hour name change process into 30 minutes and get the inside filing scoop for your state, use the MissNowMrs online name change service. There’s no need to waste 13 hours of newlywed bliss waiting in long office lines!

Help Me Change My Name

It make take some time for all state offices to be compliant with the new ruling, case in point South Dakota, but change is happening for the institute of marriage and married name change. It is important to note that while all states will now accept same sex marriage certificates, there are still limitations on the name-change options available to newlyweds based on their state of residence.

Some states will not allow maiden to middle name change and all states except California do not allow blended last names via the married name change process.  If you have any questions about what married name change is right for you/available to you, play the MarriedNameGame and let its patent-pending algorithm give you your ideal option or email our support team for help!

Zoe Saldana’s Husband Changes His Last Name To Hers!

We love when celebrity’s husband changes his name to hers! Newlywed Marco Perego bucked name change tradition and took his lovely wife’s last name after their marriage. The new Mr. and Mrs. Zoe Saldana may be making news as celebrities who made an atypical name change choice, but more and more men are taking their spouse’s last name, hyphenating names or blending last names.

What does this new trend in men’s name change mean? Honestly, as a name change expert, I believe it means that couples are finally equal in each other’s eyes and name change has nothing to do with ownership. Many of our client’s are citing the concept of name change showing that they’re “all in” in their marriage and I love that sentiment!  No one should change their name against their will (man or woman), but name change can be an expression of love.

If you are a newlywed man interested in taking your spouse’s last name, the state you live in dictates the process you can use to change to your married name. Men who live in California, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York or North Dakota can used the married name change process to change their names (as these states recognize a man’s right to change his name based on marriage). If you do not live in one of the listed states, you will need to petition the US court system for a legal name change order and then file the appropriate paperwork to affect your new name.

Currently, California is the only state that allows couples to blend their last names using the married name change process. **The catch is you must list that blended name when you apply for your marriage license. Talking about name change pre-wedding is something I always advise. You may surprise each other with your views and ideas (in a good way).

Curious what name change option or options are right for you and your spouse? Play the MarriedNameGame and let its patent pending algorithm generate your perfect married name! Also, if you have a friend who’s husband changes his name to hers, we’d love to hear your story in a comment!

Ginger Spice Opts to Change Her Name…How Nice!

Ginger spice

Former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, married Christian Horner in a lovely ceremony on May 15th.  Despite her reputation as ‘Ginger Spice’ the singer/celebrity is opting to take her husband’s name after marriage.  While honeymooning, the newlywed has already changed her name to Mrs. Geri Horner on her Instagram and Twitter accounts…so we’re assuming the legal name change will occur as soon as she returns home to England!

More and more female celebrities are bucking the Hollywood trend of hanging onto the maiden names their fans know them by.  Gerri Halliwell is joining the celebrity name change wave started by Amal Alamuddin’s name change, Angelina Jolie’s name change and Lady Gaga’s name change.  It’s sociologically interesting to see this shift in name change choice by women in the lime light and it will be equally interesting to see what impact their name change choices make on the choices of millennial brides.

Regardless of her name change choice, we wish Geri the very best as she begins newlywed life and would love if she used MissNowMrs.com to go from Miss to Mrs. in minutes!
